We stayed the night in Sleepy Hollow after looking, fruitlessly for the bridge that the headless horseman rode over. The GPS started squawking about being close to it, so we hopped out to look for it in the rain, but it was a bust. We found it the next morning, though.
Then we drove along the smaller roads and ended up in Norwich, Connecticut, to this gigantic abandoned old mental hospital. Stephanie likes architectural photographs and really loves photos of derelict buildings and ruins.
We usually try to find a way into places like this, or at least drive around them and get some good pictures, but this place freaked us out with their very stern warnings and signs about trespassing and police and even photo-taking! So we just kind of trespassed and took photos. We could see a number of patrolling cars (this place was really big, many acres and lots of buildings), so we didn't get very deep.
