Well, we're in the first class lounge, waiting for our flight to Guadalajara. They ran us through the check-in and baggage area to get us in here. Why are we in first class? Because we waited until the last minute to buy our tickets. Shocker. We wanted to go on the same flight as Javier and his family and when I looked online, the only seats left were the first class seats and they were only 30 bucks more. Well, okay then, you know, just to be neighborly. But if you know me, and I think you do, I've got a bit of a guilt issue and I'm having trouble sitting up here in giantic leather seats with all this fresh fruit and coffee. I wanna go get Javier, Heidi and Humberto and bring them up here, or at least smuggle some grapes down to them. Fred has made a full-scale recon of the area, found the bar (not mini-bar, mind you, Costco-sized jugs of liquor, one of every kind) and has added tequila to my orange juice and Kahlua to my coffee. So the booze factor has helped to calm my guilt down and I am, frankly, enjoying this now. It's not my fault I had to buy the tickets so late. When Fred and I went to Cancun, we went to one of those all-inclusive resort thingies, and there was a major alcohol push there as well. I became addicted to Tecate beer in the can and would roll over in the morning and crack one first thing in the morning, my side of the bed had no nightstand: it was a mini-fridge. I love Mexico. |
